Lindi Kopecko, DVM, Owner Since 2024

Dr. Lindi Kopecko is a veterinarian and the proud owner of Spay and Neuter of SLC, a clinic dedicated to providing accessible, high-quality spay, neuter, dental, and preventive services to pets and their families. She began working at Spay and Neuter of SLC in 2014. Already passionate about offering affordable veterinary care, she was deeply influenced by the mentorship of Dr. Daines, who strengthened her commitment to community-focused, low-cost services. Under that guidance, Dr. Kopecko expanded the clinic’s mission, offering affordable exams, general care, and compassionate euthanasia services to better support local pet owners.

Dr. Kopecko graduated from the University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine in 2008 and began her career in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, and Palm Springs, California. Her time at the Palm Springs Animal Shelter—where she served as Chief of Staff—ignited her lifelong dedication to spay and neuter work. There, she witnessed firsthand the effects of pet overpopulation and developed a deep resolve to prevent unwanted litters, reduce shelter crowding, and help ensure that fewer animals spend their lives in shelters.
Over the course of her career, Dr. Kopecko has performed well over 100,000 spay and neuter surgeries. She is known for her exceptional surgical skill, including expertise in managing even the most complicated procedures, such as pyometra surgeries and cryptorchid neuters. Her precision, speed, and compassion in the surgical suite have made her a trusted resource for both pet owners and rescue organizations.

Her passion for animal welfare began long before veterinary school, in her childhood home of Bessemer, Michigan, where she spent her youth rescuing stray and injured animals. That early calling grew into a career rooted in service, compassion, and a belief that every pet deserves access to high-quality, affordable care.

Outside the clinic, Dr. Kopecko is an avid dressage rider who enjoys training and spending time with her two horses, Kuu and Tot. Her home is shared with numerous beloved cats and two dogs—Bixby, a spirited red heeler, and Juicy, a delightfully “crispy” chihuahua. She is happily married and the proud mother of one wonderful son; both her husband and son share her deep love of animals and remain unwavering supporters of her work.

With extensive experience in surgery, shelter medicine, and community veterinary care, Dr. Kopecko is dedicated to strengthening the human–animal bond and ensuring every pet has access to compassionate, affordable services.
